POLAND GAME SUMMARY 01/26/15 YORK 45 POLAND 38
On a makeup night at an earlier time with no JV game preceding it and before the "Blizzard of '15" could hit us, the Lady Wildcats started out a little foggy and luckily improved throughout the game against a feisty Poland squad looking for valuable Heal points to hold their spot in the tournament. A switch to a trapping half-court zone at the beginning of the second half allowed the team to expand a small lead and enter the final quarter with a 7 point margin. Timely baskets by Chloe Smedley, Mia Briggs, and Shannon Todd, along with good foul shooting by Lily Posternak kept the margin the same for the 7 point victory. The team shot 83% from the foul line. This puts the York team momentarily into 3rd place in the standings with 4 challenging games remaining.
